Mike Tober
As an athlete at Yorktown HS in Arlington, Virginia, Tober earned All-America honors his senior year. While at North Carolina State University, he was a five-time Atlantic Coast Conference Diving Champion, an NCAA All-America and a member of the USA National Dive Team. Tober placed in the top 12 in all three diving events at the USA Senior National Championships, 8th on the 3-meter springboard, 11th on the 10 meter platform and 12th on the one-meter springboard. He participated in the Olympic Trials on the 3-meter springboard and was the gold medalist on both the 3-meter springboard and the 10-meter platform and the 10th Maccabiah Games in Israel. As a diving coach, Tober spent 14 years at the University of Maryland and is currently coaching at George Washington University. In addition to his numerous collegiate diving and coaching accolades, he was named as a USA National Dive Team Coach from 1995-1997, coaching teams in China and Mexico. Tober was also named as a Pan American Games Coach in 1995. Along with his college coaching duties, Tober currently coaches age-group diving throughout the area and operates a successful aquatic sports camp business in Montgomery and Anne Arundel Counties with additional locations in northern Virginia.
