Adam Vann
Adam Vann began his swimming career at the age of eight as a member of the JCC swim team. He then trained with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club where he still holds several records. At Wootton High School he set school records in multiple events and established a Montgomery County High School record in the 500 freestyle. He was named to the Washington Post All-Met swim team and was an Academic All-American. In 1989 he was selected as a member of the United States Maccabiah Junior Swimming Team. At the games in Tel Aviv, he won six gold medals, setting several meet records, and won medals in all ten events in which he competed. In 1993 as a member of the United States Maccabiah Swimming Team, he won a gold and a bronze medal. His time in the 1500 freestyle earned him a top 25 U.S. ranking and a top 100 world ranking. He has volunteered his summer in Israel working with and teaching Israeli coaches and elite swimmers.
