The Bender JCC of Greater Washington
Announces Partnership with The Feynman School
The STEM school for gifted students will move to the Bender JCC beginning Fall 2023
Rockville, MD, May 12, 2023 – The Bender JCC of Greater Washington announced today a partnership with The Feynman School, an independent co-educational school for academically gifted students focusing on STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and math).
The Bender JCC will welcome the Feynman School’s 70+ students, and 15+ faculty and staff to its beautiful campus located in Rockville, Maryland in August 2023 for the 2023-2024 school year. As part of the move, the Bender JCC will license up to 12 available classrooms to the Feynman School for their exclusive use during the school day, leaving those classrooms available in the evening and weekends for Bender JCC members and guests to enjoy.
“The Bender JCC plays a central role in strengthening and connecting our Greater Washington community. One meaningful way in which the Bender JCC convenes community is by making our state-of-the-art campus available for use by organizations that make a positive impact in our region,” said Josh Bender, CEO of the Bender JCC. “We are very fortunate to have a beautiful facility at the Bender JCC which includes several renovated educational spaces that are available during the school day and are pleased to welcome the Feynman community to the Bender JCC and look forward to a wonderful partnership.”
Many families in the Feynman School already have strong connections to the Bender JCC, making this a natural partnership for the Montgomery County community.
“I grew up in the community and my family is deeply rooted at the Bender JCC,” said Jonathan Lerner, parent to a Feynman student. “Bringing Feynman to the Bender JCC means that these two special places will be connected and that is very meaningful to me and my family.”
The Feynman School’s leadership believes a relocation to the Bender JCC’s modern facility will enrich their students’ educational experiences and foster stronger connections with the broader community.
“Moving to the Bender JCC will enhance our school’s commitment to educational excellence and promote growth opportunities for our students, staff, and families,” said Susan Gold, the Feynman School’s Co-Founder and Head of School. “This partnership is a win-win for our entire community, and we look forward to greeting our returning and new school families this fall at our new location at the Bender JCC.”
