Berlin-born and D.C. based filmmaker, Aviva Kempner creates successful and critically acclaimed documentaries, including her latest film, A Pocketful of Miracles: A Tale of Two Siblings. She chronicles her mother Hanka and uncle Dudek Ciesla’s lives before and during WW II. From their idyllic Jewish upbringing in Poland through their survival of the Holocaust to their tearful reunion after the war, this moving documentary tells their incredible life stories in an impressive, humorous, and moving way.
