Mark is a partner in Monumental Sports & Entertainment – the sports investment group that owns the NHL Washington Capitals, NBA Washington Wizards, WNBA Washington Mystics and the Verizon Center.
Some of the organizations with which Mark has held volunteer leadership positions include the Bender JCC, Hillel at The George Washington University, Israel Bonds, the New York University | DC Center Steering Committee, Washington DC Sports Hall of Fame, The Annette M. and Theodore N. Lerner Family Foundation, the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation.
In 2007, he received the prestigious Chadesh Yameinu Award from the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, where he previously served on the board. He was co-chair of the 2004 JCC Maccabi Games of Greater Washington. Mark sits on Major League Baseball’s Competition Committee.
The Lerner family has expanded their participation in the region through the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, which includes projects such as the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Ward 7 and the Washington Nationals Diabetes Care Complex at Children’s National Medical Center.
The Lerner and Nationals charitable foundations helped create the Washington Nationals Miracle Field in Germantown, MD to encourage disabled children to play baseball. The team hosts player trips to visit active military and veterans at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and hosts and honors returning veterans at each of their home games.
Mark resides in Washington with his wife of 36 years, Judy Lenkin Lerner. They have three children.

Jonathan Lerner is the Vice President of Operations at Lerner. A native Washingtonian, Jonathan is also a member of the Washington Nationals Board and the Washington Philanthropies Board, helping shape both the local sports scene and community-focused philanthropic efforts. He serves as a trustee for the Jewish Community Fund, supporting initiatives that promote Jewish values and community engagement.
Jonathan began his career at Proskauer Rose, focusing on M&A, and later worked for Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) before joining his family business in 2014.
Jonathan lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Ilyse, and their sons, Eli and David.

Jacob Lerner is the Vice President of Real Estate Development and Office Leasing at Lerner and sits on the board of the Washington Nationals. With a decade of experience, he specializes in residential development and office repositioning.
Jacob lives in Washington, D.C, with his wife, Dahlia, and their sons, Ezra and Simon.
