Please see codes below that address specific weather situations. If you have a question regarding preschool schedules and programming changes, check our website, call 301-881-0100 after 7:00 AM, or watch your local TV station.
JPLAY PROGRAMS
When the preschool is cancelled, J Play programs are cancelled. When the preschool delays, J Play programs are on as scheduled.
Outdoor POOL POLICIES
The Outdoor Pool Closses if any of the following conditions are met:
- Outside air temperature OR “real feel” (wind chill) is 35 degrees or below
- The water temperature is 75 degrees or below.
- The pool deck (immediately next to the pool) and emergency exists are unable to be cleared of ice and/or snow
- Fog, steam, snow, sleet, and freezing rain above the water line prevent our staff from clearly viewing the swimmers in any area of the pool
COMING OF AGE & SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAMS
When Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) are delayed or not in session, Coming of Age, ESOL and Senior Satellite Programs will also be cancelled.
TV Stations
The Bender JCC of Greater Washington coordinates closing and delay announcements with NBC 4, CBS 9 and WTOP.
