Al DuGoff was a multi-sport champion, lettering in football, basketball and track at Roosevelt High School in Washington, DC. There he was voted “Best Male Athlete” and “Best All-Around Male Student.” He was offered a full athletic scholarship to play football at George Washington University and was listed in Who’s Who in American Universities and Colleges 1949-50. DuGoff played for the GW Colonials varsity team as a fullback. He is most remembered for a 106 yard kick-off return in Griffith Stadium. Before his last year at GW, he tried out for the Washington Redskins but returned to complete his degree.
