Barry Weinberg
Barry Weinberg grew up loving baseball. He is honored for making an invaluable contribution to the sport he loves-training its athletes. Weinberg began his career as a high school and college baseball player. He went on to become a trainer in the Pittsburgh Pirates Minor League baseball system for 5 years before serving as the assistant trainer for the New York Yankees from 1979 through 1981. Since 1982, he has been the head trainer for the Oakland Athletics baseball team. He has participated in 6 league championship playoffs, 4 World Series and has been selected as American League trainer for the 1987 and 1993 Major League Allstar Games. An expert in his field, he has lectured internationally, written numerous articles for athletic training publications, produced training videos and served as clinician at many local and national symposia.
