Lyle Berlin
Lyle Berlin has played volleyball since he turned 35. The sport has allowed him to represent American Jewry and be consistently recognized nationally as one of the best volleyball players in his age group. Lyle’s various teams have won six gold, 11 silver and four bronze medals in major national and international competitions. He has played in many U.S. cities, as well as in Mexico City, Toronto and Montreal. While competing in the USA Volleyball (USAV) National Championships, Lyle was chosen the Most Valuable Player twice and named to the First Team All-Tournament Team five times. Twice, he was named the Most Valuable Player in the Jewish Welfare Board Volleyball Championships. In 2014, he competed and medaled in the USAV Men ’ s 73 -and-over division. Lyle ’ s daughter, Ali Berlin Weinstein, and his uncle, Phil Fox, were previously inducted into the JCC Sports Hall of Fame.
