Phillip Fox
Philip Fox is recognized as one of the world’s top basketball officials and clinicians. A native of the Washington area, Fox was one of the premier referees from the late 1940s through the 1960s, officiating in the NBA and many collegiate conferences. The basketball rules interpreter for the states of Maryland and West Virginia for over two decades, he gave clinics on behalf of the State Department throughout the world. Fox coached high school basketball, football and baseball at Eastern, Woodrow Wilson and Roosevelt High Schools before joining the faculty at Wilson Teachers College. He also served as president of the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials. A talented athlete, he is a member of the Greater Washington Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame.
