Samantha Hetchkop
Samantha grew up in Montgomery County and attended Wootton High School, where she played varsity soccer, varsity basketball and varsity co-ed golf. She was captain of her varsity soccer team and was named high school defensive MVP. She was captain of her WAGS (Washington Area Girls Soccer) Potomac Club Soccer team and played in the Olympic Development Program for the Maryland State Soccer Team. She was captain of her JCC Maccabi Games teams, winning silver and gold medals. Samantha went on to play varsity women’s soccer and junior varsity basketball at the University of Rochester.
Since graduating from college, Samantha has coached many soccer teams. She was the JV girls soccer coach at Richard Montgomery High School (2011-2013) where she won The Gazette’s “My Favorite Coach” award for all JV girls sports in Montgomery County. She was head coach for the freshman girls soccer team at The Academy of the Holy Cross, was head coach of the U-8 girls program for Potomac Soccer Club, and coached a Division 1 Bethesda Classic team. She has also been a private soccer trainer for boys and girls ages 6-16, and coached golf and soccer at Kutsher’s Sports Academy in New York.
